Basic Overview of our Day 2 reconvene.

We first reconvened by outlining that day 1 of the convention was recessed illegally per RNC, NVGOP and Roberts Rule. Since the recess was invalid, we were a still in convention.

We then outlined how the credentials report was illegally submitted. It was claimed by the original chair that when the credentials report was submitted we were operating under no rules. Instead, per RNC, NVGOP rules, if we have no rules, we are to fall back on the rules of the prior convention. Since those rules outlined a different credentialing procedure than was followed, the origninal credentials report was invalidated.

Since the original credentials report was invalid, it must be resubmitted and approved by the body. The credentials chair submitted the only known list (which was of those in attendance of our Day 2 convention) and that was approved.

We then were able to operate with a quarum of 100%.

We then reaffirmed all of the action that was taken day 1 illegally (due to an invalid credentials report) so that no business completed on day 1 would be invalidated. As part of that we also reaffirmed the votes as cast for the 9 congressional district delegates.

We then completed the business that was incomplete from Day 1 including voting for the remaining 22 delegates.

Out of the 31 delegates, it looks like Ron Paul took 25 or so.

The convention was then recessed and closed in such a way that all further business of the convention for the year would be illegal.

I was completely impressed with the thought and preparation that went into not only following RNC and NVGOP rules to a T, but in laying out the legality of the Day 2 reconvene.

There is no legal reason that the Day 2 reconvene should be thrown out in St. Paul in September, but the RNC could still violate their own rules and screw us over.

With the whole thing on tape and rules followed so well, such action from the RNC would be very transparent.

As you probably can tell, my stream is down. Fortunately Brock’s (voodoo’s) is up and ruinning.

It turns out that sprint has terrible coverage in Reno while Verizon’s coverage is great. Brock is on Verizon. I am on Sprint.

At least one stream is running.

On a note of concern though, it looks like we will be short of a quorum. We’ll have to see what happens.

I’m currently getting about 10kbps down and 30kbps up. It wasn’t that slow last time I was here.

If it doesn’t get better by tomorrow and if the hotel does not have a wifi connection, then that might cause problems for the live stream. Cross you fingers

I am a Republican because I believe the US dollar should once again be worth more than the paper on which it is printed and doing so requires elimination of the Federal Reserve and reestablishment of a gold standard.

I am a Republican because I believe that a person has a God-given right to exercise his free will, to act as he please, in whatever way so long as that act does not impose upon another’s.

I am a Republican because I believe that the needs of my parents, my grandparents, my neighbors and my friends are best fulfilled by the people who are closest to them and care about the most about the outcome.

I am a Republican because I believe it is my responsibility to see that my children are raised with a moral foundation, full of knowledge and preparation for the world.

Because I am a Republican, I cannot vote for an increase in taxes.

Because I am a Republican, I cannot vote for ignoring the wrongs of those in our country illegally.

Because I am a Republican, I cannot vote for existence or expansion of the IRS or the power granted to it.

Because I am a Republican, I cannot vote for imposition on my right to live as I please, on the property I own, with the family I love.

Because I am a Republican, I cannot vote for continued presence in an unnecessary war.

Because I am a Republican, I cannot vote to limit my ability to defend myself, my family or my country.

Because I am a Republican, I cannot vote to violate constitutional protections of the rights of the citizens in the name of patriotism.

Because I am a Republican, I cannot vote for the artificial gaming of the economy by toying with inflation via interest rate manipulation.

Because I am a Republican, I cannot vote for an expansion of welfare or entitlements, personal or corporate.

Because I am a Republican, I cannot vote for expansion of government run schools and education programs or for the government telling me how my child should be educated and by whom.

I guess this November… I am a Libertarian.

The attempted reconvene of the Nevada GOP convention is tomorrow in Reno. It’s very important that we achieve a quorum so if you were a credentialed delegate in April, you really need to be there. This is the only way to ensure a fair convention.

Do I think we’ll have a quorum? I’m hopeful, but also realistic.

Either way, I’ll be streaming the event live. If you were a credentialed delegate in April, I’d rather have you watch the event live in Reno. If you are an interested observer, please spread the word and let’s try to bring down StickAM.

There are a couple other people who will be streaming the same event from different angles, so should be interesting for sure. I’ll try to get their cams up on my site as well. You’ll probably want to mute one of them otherwise audio will drive you crazy.

As a side note, I may turn on my camera this evening just for the fun of it. Depends who I see around. Otherwise I’ll see you in the morning.

Live Streaming of the Nevada GOP convention.

I’m planning to stream the June 28th reconvene of the Nevada GOP State Convention live on my website. I’ve added a widget to the left side of my page, but you can also view a larger version on my new live stream page here.

It should go live around 7am pacific time.

I will be broadcasting using my HD camcorder connected to my OQO over Sprint’s EVDO RevA service.

Depending on the speed of my connection, the stream may be high or low quality, and if I can’t get a Sprint signal from within the convention hall, you might not get it at all.

Check back on June 28th to watch the convention live (hopefully).
