Embezzlement at Planet Hollywood Poker Room

Apparently four employees were stealing from the dealer tournament tips and pocketed fake high hand payouts.

I’d sure like to know who these four people were and if they worked in any other local cardrooms previously.

Photo of the Day

I entered several events in this year’s World Series of Poker.  Unfortunately, no big cashes (or any cashes for that matter).  At least I was in long enough for my wife to snap this most excellent of pics.

Excalibur brings in Strip Poker

Check this out.  The Excalibur who recently announced that they are getting rid of their electronic poker room is now apparently adding a new sexy twist to the game.

Excalibur is bringing back to live poker!

Well, that didn’t last long.  Excalibur has called up their layed off dealers and offered them their jobs back.  Apparently the tables may be moved to another casino, but no details are known yet.  I gave them a try last year and found them to be no where near as satisfying as a real game.

My tournament drought is over

It’s official…  I finally cashed in another poker tournament.  After a long series of bubbles and downright bad luck, I finally cashed in yesterday’s Binion Poker Classic No Limit Tournament.  Wasn’t for a lot of money, but nice to break through the wall.  Now to take that through to the Series.

Summer tournament season starts today!

Today is the start of the summer tournament season.  I’ll be heading out shortly to play in the first public tournament of this year’s Binions Poker Classic.  The World Series of Poker starts tomorrow and then there are simultaneous tournaments over the next two months at Binions, Ceasars, Bellagio, Venitian and RIO followed by the Orleans Open to finish it all off in August.  Hope you enjoyed seeing me around this spring because I’m about to be hard to track down.

Daniel wrote a really great blog post about the cool changes happening this year at the WSOP.  Take a read here…

World loses Poker Legend Chip Reese

For some reason this one hits me pretty hard and I’ve never even met the guy.  Maybe it was just that he looked about 36 instead of 56, or maybe it was just that he was so damn good at his poker passion…  but I am really saddened to hear this news.  I imagine that Jesus, Moses, Mohammad and Chip are all sitting down at a Stud table, and if they aren’t careful, Chip may soon end up bankrupting them all.
